Available Started Dogs

Skye Creek Started Dogs come in all shapes and sizes with a wide variety of training experience. Our started dogs are hand picked by our Skye Creek Team, often selecting pups from our own breedings to ensure the quality is what our customers demand. Some of our young pups are backgrounded and have received enough training for them to go home with their new owners without all the work of the dreaded puppy phase. Other started dogs are at a point in training where all their foundational pieces are in place and their new owner can continue training. Other started dogs are ready to jump in the duck blind with you tomorrow for this years hunt.

Advantages of buying a started dog include:

• Puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention. If your schedule doesn’t afford you a lot of time for this stage or if you are hoping to avoid the puppy stage, a started dog is for you.

• Most started dogs are older so you can better judge what they look like and how big they are going to get.

• While it is very difficult to know what the personality of a puppy is going to be like, a started dog is much easier. You are afforded the ability to see if they are shy, timid, energetic, or loving. Much of a dogs personality shines through by the time they are 6-7 months old.
